Happy December everyone! I hope you are off to a wonderful holiday-filled month
First I would like to thank all of you for keeping up with my blog. Since I started working– I’ve found it really hard to fit blogging into my schedule! Gone are the leisurely days of 12 hours per week of class (if even that) and lounging on the couch! I’m currently working full time, taking classes for the GMAT and trying to fit in my social life, kabbalah, family & any and all things in between! Who would have thought ‘the real world’ could be so time consuming
So things have been a bit crazy busy lately– crazy yes– but in a good way!!
Anyways– lets back track to last week! I had to work AM shifts the Friday after Thanksgiving- continuing to the following Wednesday (HELLO 5 AM!), so dad and I tried to make Thanksgiving weekend as fun as possible!
What did we do you ask? Well Friday night– as I hinted at in my previous post– we hit up Turner Fisheries for some good eats—
Of course I was boring…

Last week was DEFINITELY non interesting in terms of eats…here are more usual suspects…

Yogurt messes with Vitamuffins

At least I used a new flavor yogurt– this is AWESOME by the way
! This flavor boasts raisins and mini apple chunks with a cinnamony flavor
On Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend, dad and I went to see the NUTCRACKER!!! I have been going almost every year since I was young! I just love it so so sooo much!!!!
Here I am before the show..

You are all too sweet on complimenting my outfits because I don’t really consider myself one of those people who thinks of myself as ’stylish’… but thank you
I snuck a pick inside the theater!!

The ballet got out around 10 pm! Dad and I were famished– we hit up our place for a late night din
Of course I had the usual crustaceans (I’m getting embarrassed to admit this!!). For my entree I had seared jumbo scallops with asparagus

and roasted baby beets

and of course the dessert buffet

From the top: Pumpkin pie (SO GOOD!), vanilla ice cream with REAL hot fudge topping (no whimpy syrup!), chocolate cupcake and the star was the chocolate pecan bourbon pie! This plate was CLEANED!
Last week was pretty busy with work! I even had to work 1 1/2 shifts one day because someone called out! I have to say– I really enjoy my job! Since I work at the front desk I get to ’schmooze’ with the guests, upgrade people who are nice, send champagne and wine, reccommend restaurants– I have a blast
I will however, say that come Saturday night– I was ready to have a night out! Me & one of my girlfriends hit up Abe & Louie’s for eats (yes I know I was there last week too– it’s my friends fav place in the city!) .

You will be happy to know that I ordered salmon for dinner
along with asparagus and a JUMBO baked sweet tater that I split with my friend. Afterwards we hit up a few lounges but it was sooo cold/snowy/rainy out so we decided to ditch our ‘dinner & drinks’ night in order to take refuge at the beloved dessert buffet.
It was perfect as always.
After realizing that last week I ate 5 lobsters and about 20+ shrimp….I have come to the conclusion that I am just about COMPLETELY boring and routine when it comes to my meals and where I go to eat. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing– but I would say that I do limit myself. As a person who would like to consider herself ’spontaneous’ I definitely do not prove to be so in the things that I eat and the places I go for a meal. This is definitely something I would like to work on… yet I always fear that I will order/eat something I simply hate…
Case in point…

Yeah this TJ’s entree was my attempt to ‘eat something different’ for dinner– it was not good. VERDICT: skimpy portion, weird flavors— it went down the garbage disposal after 2 bites.
I don’t know if I think it’s necessarily ‘bad’ to eat the same things and go to the same places all the time– but like I said it’s limiting.
In Kabbalah it states that ‘If you constantly go to the same places, surround yourself with the same people, do the same things– nothing really ever changes.’
I feel that this is soo true!!! So often I have complained how ‘bored’ I can be with things that are going on in my life. Don’t get me wrong– I LOVE my life and the people in it! But I think that I am wayyyy too comfortable in my routine and the places that I frequent. My major goal for the next few months is to expand my horizons in terms of foods that I eat, places I go, people I surround myself with and things that I do in general!
My question for you: Do you feel you have a certain ‘routine’? What aspect of your life does it play into the most?
That’s all everyone
Have a wonderful evening!!!! I hope to be able to blog more often– my work schedule isn’t too crazy this week so hopefully I can squeeze in another post or two this week
Thanks again!!
Jaime

Hey love! Of course I’m keeping up with you blog, it’s one of my favorites
Glad you are keeping yourself busy with work and fun! In the next month, my schedule is about to change drastically! So I’ll be with you on the crazy busy schedule, which I’m excited about!
I love seafood, and all of your photos look mouth watering! Especially your usual shrimp cocktail! Mm! So awesome that you went to see the Nutcracker. That always gets me in the holiday spirit. Ok, I tasted that same TJ’s Roasted Veggie Couscous and I thought it was gross too!! Such weird flavors and a bad consistency. Blah! Tj’s usually doesn’t disappoint me! Oh well.
Have a lovely week and weekend my dear! Sending love and positivity your way!!
As for routines, I’m definitely a creature of habit. Keeps me balanced!
The Nutcracker is my FAAAAVORITE Christmas play!
Great Kabbalah message; and I LOVE YOUR OUTFITS!
Catch up soon pleeeeease xoxo
Hey, I’m a new follower! I love your blog already so don’t even worry about the frequency of the posts. It’ll just make us appreciate them more! I must find that bread pudding yogurt. And your outfits are indeed lovely!
Once I find something that I really like, I do use it for a while but then I end up bored with it. Like my breakfasts, for example. I will eat the same exact combo of oats for 2 weeks straight but then I’ll mix it up a bit and try something completely different for a week or two. I know what you mean about being unsure if you’ll like something, but you can always get recommendations about new places or dishes from friends or reviews. There’s a lot of great stuff out there, and I wouldn’t be so afraid of the unknown if I were you – you could really be missing out!
Enjoy your Tuesday!
I’m definitely a creature of habit … most of the time I like routine, but sometimes if it goes on for TOO long I get so bored with it I want to cry!! I think it’s wonderful that you want to expand your horizons, so to speak… sorry the veggie couscous didn’t work out, though! Sometimes it just takes some trial and error to find another winner.

I was so happy to see an update! I’ve missed your Kabbalah reminders. Anyways, I definitely follow way to many routines. In fact, my therapist suggested that this winter break I try to break some of them and just do spontaneous things without putting so much thought into everything. It’s terrifying though. I’m always afraid of being disappointed so I stick to what I know that I like.
I’m sure that your attempts to break your routine will be supportive and inspiring as I attempt to do the same.
Hopefully you update before you travel for the holiday but otherwise:
HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!
I think that is the definition of breaking your routine LOL!

I understand how you are feeling about ‘routines’.. if we don’t shake it up then life can get dull. However, with my circumstances.. i just crave a routine. I haven’t had a routine in about 2 years due to some personal issues, nothing bad.. just haven’t been able to get my feet on the ground until now so I think it depends on the person and the situation.
Sweetie you definitely have great style, i love your brown boots!
Oh, you are stylish m’dear,
very much so.
x
you look gorgeous in both pictures!! ou are def stylish
haha and i love all your seafood consumption– i don’t blame u..it is soo good! that target yogurt sounds delicious as well.
im glad u are enjoying your new job- sounds like you are doing great!
i definitely am routined in how i eat.. it is annoying!

I completely understand how crazy life can get – regardless when you post and how often, I just love hearing from ya whenever you get time to blog. just hope u r finding time to take care of yourself =)
Hey girl!
How can you say your eats are not interesting? You’re insulting the YMLN (Yogurt Messes Lovers Nation).
I love the dessert buffet, you can have a bite of everything and not having to worry about wasting food :p
Just a question, though: Do you photograph your food in restaurant secretly??? Or it doesn’t matter to you if the waiter is giving you a weird look?
xoxo

Bread pudding yogurt?! Sounds amazing!!! And your outfits are always stylish—simple and chic is the way to go. :] Lovely desserts, as usual.
Sadly, my weekends have become centered around a homework-centered routine. :/ I wish I could switch it up, but when I do… I slack off :/
yaaay hello! Nice to see you back!
Don’t feel bad about always eating the same things, seafood is so awesome and if you love it, why stop? That bread pudding yogurt does sound kind of incred though and keep on posting your outfit pics, you are totally stylish girl! Oh & the Nutcracker I HAVE to go see that, I loooove it! I know what you mean about getting into routines with things- I literally just moved to Boston, I know 3 people in the whole state and well, things can get a little dull. I think I need to put a personal ad up somewhere to look for friends lol.
Oh and your job sounds great, its awesome to be doing something you enjoy. xo

Hey Jaime!
, I also switched blogs because the other one was just gettin kinda irrelevant.
! The difference nowadays however is that after doing my study abroad trip with all the travelling/moving around every few days, I learned actually HOW to be spontaneous and that it isn’t the end of the world to not follow my ‘usual routines,’ which has been super liberating.
Thanks to kbwood and me asking around the blogosphere, I finally found your new blog! I was so sad to see your other one gone when I got back from my abroad trip in India- but glad you started another
Mmmm lotsa lobster n shrimp…delish…you know if that’s what you feel like go for it- even if you’ve had it already several times this week! I’m super routine oriented- I eat almost the same thing for breakfast every day just because I love it so damn much
Looking forward to reading more from ya!
Sara
COME BACK MAMA
